I purchased this machine on 6/10/21 and it was working fine up until months ago. Theres a sound coming from the machine that sounds like a tea pot kettle. The button adjust the setting doesnt catch sometimes. For only having the washing machine for 2 years Im really disappointed. My previous washer lasted over 10 years.

worst washer ever

We bought this washer due to the reviews on other sites and high capacity. It was the worst washing machine we ever bought First off it uses lots and lots over 50gal per load of water. Secondly in seems to continously have an imbalance when over 50 full of clothes. Thirdly the clothes actually come out dirtier and with more stains than they went in. We have pictures but the site does not have a section to post them. Anyway we called the LG service center and they asked the same questions as in the manual then stated nothing was wrong. I wrote an email the LG CEO which was sent to his personal customer care person. They asked the same questions then requested pictures. When I sent them they ghosted me. I followed up with emails to the person and even the CEO and never got another reply. Horrible product and worse service

Broke after 1 year and couldnt even get repaired

This is very ironic that I received this email today asking for my opinion. I bought this machine in July of 2022. Up until 1.5 months ago the machine worked fine. Out of nowhere the machine wouldnt turn on at all. I tried all of the troubleshooting advice I could find on YouTube to no avail. Finally I called Costco where I bought the machine who set up an appt with a tech. He came out diagnosed it said he needed to order some parts for it. It took almost 3 weeks before it was communicated to me that the parts werent available and LG was just going to refund me instead. I would assume as soon as the parts were ordered there would have been notification that what was needed was not available so that I could have taken the steps needed to replace my machine. Here I am now over 1 month later no working washing machine still waiting on a refund in the mail and sent 2 surveys prior to this one asking about my experience in which the link doesnt even work. Ive reordered a new washing machine now its not an LG and I will probably never order from LG again. Im spending on average $50 a week going to the laundromat while I waited to get a confirmed result of my broken machine. Im tempted to request that be compensate to me as well since the machine was less than a year old and then couldnt even be fixed. The inconvenience this has caused has been so much worse than I would have anticipated.

Fine when it worked.

We really loved this washer for the first year. Unfortunately right before the manufacturers warranty ran out we started experiencing a very loud grinding sound and the spin cycle would not complete. After talking with LG 3 times and troubleshooting in every way imaginable virtually they told us there was nothing else they could do as the warranty had run out. So we then began talking with the store we bought the washer from. In the last few weeks they have worked with LG to try to find someone to come out to fix the washer. They have been unable to find someone so now they are asking for 3-5 additional business days as a last-ditch effort to find a service technician. We have now been without a functioning washer for 32 days. All that to say it works well when it works but the minute it stops dont plan on getting much help from LG to actually do anything about it.

Love my washer

Ive had my washer for a couple of years now. I really like it and I can put a good amount of clothing into it and love that it cleans very well. My only 2 issues with the washer are that I find I have to wash sheets and towels separately because the weight of the wet towels seems to make the washer unbalanced and it stops and I have to rearrange the load. In addition when cleaning heavy blankets I find that sometimes the machine does not go from rinse to spin without my also having to stop the machine and level out the load if it becomes unbalanced. Even with these two shortcomings I highly recommend the washer.

This washer does not get my clothes clean. It gets them dirty. There is sludge no matter how many times I run the cleaner they recommend. I have called several times and they just recommend running a cleaner. That does nothing to fix the problem. I regret ever buying this washer as it has caused me nothing but headaches since I purchased it. I made a complaint to the BBB and they called me and said they were going to make it right but then went radio silent. I will never buy LG again.

Large and easy on the clothing

I expected this to be like my other LG but I dont find it cleans all that well. I used 3-4 tide pods and on occasion I still see makeup on my wash cloths and I never over stuff my washer since Im single. I use to use the pods with my other washer and never had this problem. I love the wifi portion of it and it looks great.

Mold and Mildew Impossible to Remove

This machine is by far the worst machine I have ever had. I have had this machine for 1.5 years yes you read that right and despite my attention to clean this washer often monthly to eventually weekly to almost every other day and leaving the lid open when not in use nor leaving clothes in the washer I am unable to remove the mold and mildew that gets stuck on my clothes unless I physically remove the bottom agitation plate and the one under it where mold and mildew STICK and build up onto the plates. This is not acceptable. Its not easy to remove the plates nor is it convenient without cutting yourself as well I cant keep a washer like this where I have to physically remove the plates or have a service tech to service this regularly. Talk about an overpriced garbage can because thats how I feel with washing my clothes in a dirty can. I have subsequently ordered a consumer commercial brand washer with zero bells and whistles which uses less water than what I have had to use trying to get this garbage clan clean LG you lost a customer for life. Never again.

This must be the worst washing machine I have ever owned. The water doesnt even cover clothes no matter how few clothes are in it. Clothes comes out smelly . It doesnt even move the clothes around. Slow moving . If you want any semblance of clean you have to run it for like a hour. Take my advice and do not by any LG washing machine without a agitator as they are garbage. Home Depot wouldnt take it back after the salesman lied about the product. Dont do it just stay away from this machine.Biggest purchase mistake of my life and now Im stuck with a machine I hate.

Continuously have issues with gunk building up under the base plate inside the washer and then releases into laundry especially when loads are on warmer to hot settings. Must remove the plate and spray out once every few months.even when using tub clean every couple weeks.

1 Year Old Washer Flooded My House

This washing machine performed well for the first 19 months then it overflowed and flooded my house. The LG repair person claimed there was nothing wrong with my washing machine when they came out to diagnose the problem.

I had bought and stored up until six months ago and then installed the washer dryer combo. Everything worked great until one day while watching tv the washers glass top shattered with nothing in it or anything having even been in it for three days. I thought LG would fix the problem but being that I had owned them for 13 months they basically told me to kick rocks

I do laundry daily. My new washer and dryer are so much better than what I had before. It saves water the wash comes out clean the dryer alerts when I need to empty the lint not only directly from the machine but from the outside which I never remember to do but it is important.

My new washer scrubs my clothes clean

I have had my LG washer and dryer since June. The washer minus agitator uses low water and literally scrubs the clothes as if it were an old fashioned scrub board The dryer is great for permanent press shirts with its steam cycle. Im loving the ironing it saves me from doing

Terrible machine. Builds up gunk

Machine constantly seems to build up gunk that then gets all over my clothes despite running cleaning cycles every month. Lg sends out techs who say its my problem not theirs. Machine is unusable.

Great Washer Excellent ratings Consumer Reports

Great washer with a huge capacity that has cut our wash time by 50. Very easy to use and a big improvement over our old front loading machine we replaced. Was able to wash out side chair cushions that would of had to be replace had we not had the capacity this machine provides. So far we love with this washer and the matching dryer.

The washer seems to do a good job. I thought I would be able to control the water level but if you select Normal it seems only about half of the close are covered in water. Some come out with a spot that seems to look like a dry spot. If I select the Water Plus button it will change from Normal to Deep wash which takes twice as long.

Beware - Design defect causes scrud.

We purchased similar model W17800CW a few years ago and have been dealing with scrud which is a waxy/dirty flake build up that stains clothes. The alleged cause is using fabric softeners which result in a chemical reaction and the low agitation at the base of the drum prevents the scrud from being removed during rinse cycles. We dont use fabric softeners and have followed cleaning and maintenance instructions without success.

Not working

I bought this on 04/2021 6 weeks ago had an LE error the repairmen has been 4 times change 6 parts and still NO WORKING the repairmen will be today 10/11/2022 for the 5th time because they LG said he need to be 2 or more times before they go to the next step. But LG tell us already IF they fix the washing machine after that will be only 90 days warranty. Even the 2 years originally ends on 04/2023.

Bought 4 months ago worked great.. then had catastrophic failure of the automated inlet valve and flooded my home. Although failures happen with all brands one thing I learned from having three different techs come look at it is LG is notorious for system issues in the appliance repair world. I know for sure we will not be purchasing or recommending LG in the future.

So far no complaints as the dryer does whats expected and is quiet. I have just noticed that on the delicate cycle it does not sense when the clothes are dry all the time heavier itema like polos a bit damp.

Lid cracked after 13 months

Liked the features and did a good job of cleaning. Unfortunately just after the warranty ran one year the lid started cracking and is threatening the hinge that holds the cover on. Had purchased extended warranty but LG says it is cosmetic and will not cover the repair. Not happy with LG. Hopefully the lid does not fall in during a spin cycle and sprays glass shrapnel everywhere.

Decent Machine BUT frustrated with customer servic

Machine washes well overall. I have had it for several years and the area where you put bleach started to develop rusting. I rarely put bleach in my washes and live in a dry environment. I didnt really mind untill all of my clothes started getting rust spots on them. I reached out to customer service after a friend said the same thing happened to their LG. I dont discuss the appearance of my washing machine with many people lol so the fact that this person had the same exact issue makes me think this is a manufacturer defect which I believe should be fixed by the manufacturer regardless of age. The fact that you can buy the part on their website for replacement seems to also indicate it is a defect. Just send me the part and I will have to deal with paying someone to install it. Thats all I should be responsible for.
