Our machine is less than 2 years old and suffers from two issues.
1. The machine unbalances very easily with large/heavy loads. We are constantly having to stop the machine and rebalance because it cannot do it on its own.
2. The transmission is failing and when the washer component was opened, oil had leaked everywhere. The service technician said that the machine can fail at any time.
Less than 2 years with this machine and we are already looking for a new one!

Originally we had a front load washer and dryer stacked on top of each other in our small "Pantry" like closet, it worked, but wasn't the greatest set up.
Once we found this washer/dryer combo, we were thrilled, not only does it fit perfectly, actually gave us a little more room in the closet, but for a combo washer dryer, it can hold a lot more clothing than most others on the market
It's high efficiency is also great, don't need a lot of detergent, and the lint trap is solid, nothing gets through and stuck below/in the front end of the dryer.
Would recommend this washer/dryer combo to anyone who has a limited space to put a washer and dryer.

Replaced an old unitized unit & love the larger capacity of not washer & dryer as well as updated controls. Only issue I have is not enough headroom to grab wet clothes in washer, bump head on lid & hIr gets caught on hinge.

I had washer for less than a month and it became rusted. The rust ruined a load of clothes by staining them. GE said they do not cover rust on their washing machines and there is nothing they can do for me, their only suggestion was to call retailer. Retailers only suggestion was to call GE. Now, I am stuck with a $1500 washing machine I can not use. Please do not make the mistake of purchasing this product.

I love that I was able to get a stackable without the agitator in the washer. It allows me to wash bedding and pillows when I had to lug that stuff home and back to wash at home. It runs great!!

I've had other brands of this same kind of machine before but this is my first GE one. It is much better than any of the others. It's very quiet. It has lots of cycles to choose from, both for wash and dry. It has a quick drying cycle.

The tub capacity is the biggest for stacked combo of all of the brands I've looked at. Except for one setting, the water fills only 1/2 or less. GE says you can wash a full load without water covering the clothes. But it's not correct. The maximum the water fills on "auto-detect" is half-way in the tub, whether your tub is half-full of laundry or filled to the top with laundry. The clothes at the top don't get pulled-down because there's not enough water for them to circulate downward - the clothes on the bottom don't have any space to circulate upward.. The clothes are stuck. Just like rush-hour traffic - too many cars, not enough road space means you aren't going anywhere. The clothes on top will sometimes be wet, but that's just because water has soaked into them from the wet clothes below. This is a major flaw. The objective is to reduce water/energy consumption, but the outcome is the opposite. It increases consumption - you can't wash as much laundry as you could if the water filled up all the way. You end up doing more washings to clean the same amount of clothes. Frustrating, wasteful, and inefficient. And they don't tell you this. Why would they? It's not a feature worth bragging about. You find this out when you get the machine home and start using it. I had 8 service calls because my washer wouldn't fill up with enough water to do a load of laundry. I thought there was something wrong with my machine. They all verbally confirmed it wasn't getting the laundry on top pulled into circulation. Then, they write up, "machine working normal, no problems"!! They weren't honest enough to state that there's a flaw in the water level design scheme.
Lack of truthful advertising. Poor water-filling capacity increases cost. Have do to twice as many washings because it only works effectively with half-filled tubs of laundry. The "auto-sense" filling scheme only works when laundry is half-full or less. You can't do a full-load of laundry!!! That is not energy-efficient. It is just the opposite.

I've always bough GE products (refrigerator, gas range, dishwasher) for it's reliability, durability and reasonably priced (value for money).
The unitized washer/dryer recently purchases is a lot better than the previous GE washer and dryer bought 30 ago which until replaced was still working. The choice to replace was it was time and it is a space saver.

Bought this washer/dryer because front load washers get stinky around the door seal and this was also energy star rated but now we regret it. It's the loudest washer we've ever owned and every day it makes new noises that we don't know are normal or not. It gets off balance very easily. I have to go reposition the washer every few days because it walks around. This is the non agitator model, maybe the non-energy star model with the agitator would work better. Our laundry room is in the middle of the house so the noise is really irritating.

We have a small area in our kitchen for a washer and dryer this one fit perfectly in that closet area. I like that you can do small loads or very bulky loads and it decides on the water level for appropriate cleaning. Dryer seems to dry very evenly and fast.

We have the gas unit with the aspirator washer (we do not have an agitator). First off, the washer has plenty of space for a king size comforter. Both the washer and dryer are very quiet compared to my old one. The way the machine is stacked is easier to load and unload from washer to dryer. The photos make it seem like its a small unit, but its not, it has plenty of wash/dry space. Fantastic product! Highly recommend!!

This washer has some annoying features- including one that's truly insane. It has a beep + internal flashing green light every other second to indicate NORMAL OPERATION. All the time. 24/7. It is a very quiet beep, but I can hear it walk by (mine's in a hallway closet). It drives my dog insane. I have to unplug it when not in use. Second annoying feature: pressing Pause takes forever to actually stop the washer & disengage the door lock. When a load gets extremely off balance there's nothing you can do to stop it bouncing around for a few more minutes at high speed. Third: This doesn't have a digital timer (like other newer machines) OR the knob that moves to tell you how far along it is. It just has 3 indicator lights for "wash", "rinse" and "spin". But how long is wash for whatever setting you've chosen? How much longer will it run for? This is aggravating.
Not as bad: The infuser (no agitator) seems ok so far. Probably gentler on clothes. I would have preferred a front loader but wouldn't fit in my space, so infuser is a good option. Yo do have to make sure clothes aren't balled up or they won't get wet.
Dryer is fine. I don't think E-Dry does anything. It still drys things well beyond the time they need. I open it and check once or twice as I don't like my clothes cooked.

When it delivered the dry door is already broken. And the water level to can't adjust , according to their technicians the drum is sensing the volume of clothes. But really , the water is not even cover the clothes half cloth is dry. And the technician told me that is normal. Really? You wash your cloth with half water . This is such a joke. And this is the brand new one. I highly recommend don't waste your money to buy this

really love the large capacity in this stackable unit. Only thing I'd add is a buzzer and on/off toggle for each unit. The 'medium dry' setting on the dryer results in damp clothes. This is my first machine without an agitator - it really adds space in the basket.

This product replaced my old washer/dryer but only after a few months the lid keeps clicking and won't shut unless I manually keep it pushed down in the beginning. Since the lid locks once the washer starts, I can't open it to see if the water is high enough or if there is enough soap. It's also louder than my old one. The dryer works well!

I do not recommend this model. I washed 4 small bath towels and a full size duvet cover in one load. I did not overfill the drum. After the wash cycle completed, I was not able to remove the duvet cover because it got stuck under the agitator. Since it was still under warranty, I called a repair technician who came out. He had to remove the agitator in order to loosen the fabric that was stuck underneath. He said it happens all the time and that this model should only be filled to half capacity. i was lucky because he's seen some that have stripped the agitator and then it would need to be replaced. I have never had this problem with my other GE washers so I'm thinking it's the model that can't handle the load. Apparently you need a certain type of drill bit to remove the nut securing the agitator and since I don't have that, I'll have to call him if this happens again. The salesman said he never heard of this happening but I tend to believe the repair technician over the salesman.

Worst purchase of washer I have ever made. I have very limited space, so this was the best choice, especially to get a larger capacity. However, no matter how careful I am to put items in the washer and distribute them evenly, the washer bangs and clunks during the spin cycle and stops. There is no way to restart this machine where it left off, because it has to be stopped completely in order to open the cover. You either have to start over or choose Drain and Spin. Just dreadful, and I have had several washing machines over my 70 years. This is by far the WORSE.

Purchased for a rental unit. User instructions very simple. I called the help line for clarifications on which detergent can be used since it does not have a detergent cup, operator was extremely helpful. Even walked me thru how to fill washer with water then add detergent with the pause machine option.
